01 / Advisory
Strategic clarity
Balancing group and imbalance risk, direct marketing, procurement and collateral strategy, settlement and market processes. I work where regulation, trading and systems meet — and do the arithmetic myself.
Advisory and venture building for the energy sector.
Why this exists
Europe's energy system is being rebuilt in public, under rules that change faster than the systems meant to implement them. The hard part is no longer knowing what should happen. It is making it work inside a balancing group, a billing run and a regulatory deadline.
Most of that work never reaches a strategy deck. It sits in imbalance exposure, metering data gaps, settlement logic and collateral. I work at that level — and turn what I learn there into ventures of my own.
What I do
I advise across the Austrian and German energy market, and I build companies in the same market. The advisory work funds the building; the building keeps the advice honest.

02 / Venture Building
Opportunity discovery, validation, business model design and hands-on build — for my own ventures, and for companies turning an internal solution into a business.
03 / Energy
One market, in depth. Austria and Germany, from balancing group to end-customer invoice, across the EAG, EEG and ElWG frameworks.
About
TRAVERSE is the practice of Florian Hirschbichler-Khosravi — a one-person consultancy based in Vienna, started in 2026.
Before TRAVERSE, COO and CPO of an Austrian energy-tech company, responsible for product, operations and risk. Before that, consulting on trading, risk and back-office systems for European utilities.
The through-line is the point where regulation meets systems — where a directive becomes a process, an interface and eventually an invoice. I work alone, or in small constellations put together for the brief. What I take on, I do myself.
The same habit shows up outside the office: ultra distances in the Alps, most recently 336 kilometres and 25,700 metres of ascent at the Tor des Géants — planned on a calibrated model, then reviewed against what actually happened.
